Even though I run a beauty blog, my love affair with makeup is surprisingly up and down. I go through phases where I don’t care for any new releases, where I’ll find every new video uploaded by my favourite YouTube gurus to be completely the same and uninteresting, and my Mecca Beauty Junkie level will drain down to $0. But then! Months will pass and I’ll have an abrupt change of heart. Suddenly I’m hitting Instagram’s Bookmark button on photos of makeup that give me ultimate heart eyes, I’m walking into Mecca Maxima and chucking items into a basket with wild abandon, and I’m making an online order before my previous one from another brand has arrived. Currently, I’m the latter. Like clockwork, I tend to find myself falling back in love with makeup around the middle of the year. I use the fact that I’m half way through another university year to justify spending far too much money on items I clearly don’t need. Since I’m in my final semester of university, I’ve taken serious advantage of this being the last time I can justify buying a pricey NARS palette because ‘I just submitted an essay, yay!’ Since I took a little break with blogging, I ended up acquiring a bunch of things over the course of a fair few weeks and have dabbled with a bunch of them.
