Another year, another 12 months of makeup hauls, reviews and holy grail discoveries. Compared to previous years, I feel like my beauty purchases were definitely about quality over quantity. 2018 was the year I finally tried some cult favourite products, like MAC Fix+ and Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palettes, and I for once dived head first into the world of primers, something I’ve held off from for… well, forever. Below are what I consider to be the best of the best of what I’ve purchased in the last year. These are my All Star players in my collection, each one performing its best and creating a beauty fantasy league in my makeup bag. Without even realising it, I managed to pick a favourite product from pretty much every category, from primers to foundations, blushes and lipsticks. Keep reading to see what beauty picks I highly recommend as we move into 2019!
Whoa whoa whoa, I thought as I frowned at phone, does Morphe actually have an Australian website now? If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen a couple of weeks ago on my Stories that I discovered Morphe has completely upped its game. Morphe’s always been this brand I’ve shrugged off. Their international shipping costs used to be double whatever product you were buying, their 35 shade palettes were overwhelming to look at, and every YouTube beauty guru and their mums has a commission discount code, making me question the authenticity of reviews. So I never thought I’d be a #MorpheBabe – until James Charles came into the picture. Waltzing in head-to-toe in his Sisters Apparel, James and his new rainbow themed palette had me for once genuinely wanting a slice of the Morphe pie. FREE AUSTRALIAN SHIPPING OVER $60 sealed the damn deal, and now we’re here. After selling out internationally within hours, the palette will be restocked Thursday December 6th at 8am PST (I think that translates into 2am Australian time – cue gentle weeping). Since it’s coming back, I thought I’d get my review up to help you decided whether to buy it or not, but let’s be real, I love it and am just going to gush over it. If you enjoy this review please give it a “like” so I know, and lets get into the palette!
It’s here! Beyond-this-planet-beautiful drag queen extraordinaire Miss Fame has finally launched her highly anticipated makeup line with the release of five creme lipsticks and one experimental glitter, which instantly transforms any shade into something multidimensional and other worldly. When the launch happened in September, I grabbed my card and ordered two lipsticks the day of the drop. While the 7 week wait time, 2 emails and one apparent lost order isn’t the glamorous start I’d hoped for (more on that further down), my package did finally arrive and I’m in love with what I’ve got. Let’s jump into the review, and if you enjoy it or find it helpful, don’t forget to give this post a “like” so I know.Continue reading “Miss Fame Beauty | The Fetish of Fashion Review”
I’ve tried to sit down and write this post seriously five different times, so if you’re reading this, it’s a blogging miracle. Let’s get into it! When I saw Anastasia Beverly Hills reveal their newest palette Norvina on their Instagram a couple months back, my jaw dropped. This may be dramatic, but it felt like my prayers had been answered. I own their Soft Glam palette and it’s the perfect neutral-but-warm-but-not-too-warm banger, and that one lilac shade called Dusty Rose is the perfect pop of purple that just sets the entire colour story off. Cue Norvina, which takes that concept to the extreme. This palette is gorgeous. It’s stunning. Here’s why.
WARNING: If you were hoping I’d talk you out of dropping a motza on this palette, this is not the review for you. This is one of my favourite things I’ve ever owned, so the next 800 words is going to be purely me just drooling over it. Let’s begin! If you enjoy this review or find it helpful, please give this post a ‘like‘ so I know, and let’s get into it!
There’s a couple of new kids on the Colourpop block! After the success of their amazing No Filter Concealer which I adore using, the brand has delved deeper into the world of complexion products and released not just an extensive line of foundations with 42 varied shades to choose from, but also pressed powders and loose versions too. Since I loved their concealer, heard incredible (and credible) reviews on YouTube, and saw I didn’t have much to lose with their products being so easily affordable, I ordered myself some goodies the day they launched! I’ve been testing them out for a couple weeks now, so enjoy my review below to see my true thoughts on this dynamic duo, if I think they’re worth it, and whether you should make an order yourself!
Do not be fooled by the glitter (I was lol) these brushes aren’t gold. In a dramatic turn of events, I am for once publishing a review that isn’t glowing. I’m being very harsh here, they’re brushes, they’re fine, but this write up is a reminder to myself for the next time I see a product online and think “is this too good to be true!?” Yes, it is. Let’s cut to the chase!
But first! My origin story, the one which led me to buying this seven piece set of two toned pink, liquified glitter brushes complete with a matching clutch.
Story time: It all started with Lime Crime, which should have been a warning in itself. A photo of these beautiful ‘Aquamarine‘ glitter filled brushes popped up in my Instagram feed months ago and I fell head of heels for them – until I didn’t.
